We welcome EVERYONE into the Muirhead Clan Society.
You do not have to be a Muirhead to join.


Types of memberships: Annual, Friend of the Clan, Life and Honorary

Annual Memberships:

Dues (in United States Funds):

New Membership: $20.00 for single or family membership. Family membership consists of yourself, spouse, and all minor children.) Renewal: $15.00 

Dues are due Jan. 1st each year. Renewals made after March 1st will be considered and dues after that date will be same as new member. Membership Dues Reminders will be sent out December 1st and January 31st of the New Year. Overdue notices will be sent out February 15th. Members will be contacted by e-mail unless they do not have one, then by post.

Your membership will include:

Membership letter
Membership Certificate
Membership Card
"Muirhead Clan Society" official Sticker (one free per paid membership)
Can vote and hold office in the Clan
<Optional additional stickers for members $ 1.50 ea. This price is at cost and can be ordered at any time.>



Friend: Friend of the clan memberships will be set at $15.00
( Includes same as the full and life members 
except shall not be able to vote or hold office.)


Life: $150.00 
(Includes same as full member.)

Honorary: Honorary members will be selected by the Clan Elders and pays no dues. (Includes the same benefits, as the full and life members except shall not be able to vote or hold office.) 

Gifts: Gifts in any amount sent to the Society will be accepted and put to use for the betterment of the Society. All gift contributors will receive a Certificate of Appreciation. Monetary gifts are put into the Society's savings account to raise funds to help pay the cost of upcoming legal expenses and the fees for the petition of official recognition of the clan by Lord Lyon.

Initial Objectives and Goals set by our Chief Elect:
1. Gathering the Clan Muirhead
This is an ongoing process, but to date of this writing, we have over 200 active individual members.

2. Document history and genealogy of the Muirhead Clan
Our clan genealogy database is, at the time of this writing, over 15,000 entries.

3. Submit to The Lord Lyon Court for official recognition
We are beginning this process. We have started a savings account for the Muirhead Clan Society for this purpose. Monetary gifts are put into the Society's savings account to raise funds to help pay the cost of upcoming legal expenses and the fees for the petition of official recognition of the clan by Lord Lyon. 4. Discover or have created a tartan for the Muirhead Clan
We have accomplished this. Continue reading for the story behind the Muirhead Tartan.

5. Promotion of a fellowship between members of the Clan
6. Maintaining an interest in Scotland as the land of our origin
7. Preserving the history and traditions of the Clan
8. The publication of literature and the reproduction of art pertaining to the history and traditions of the Clan.
